Many students in the Math and Stats department have shown an interest in acrobatics, dance, gymnastics, and/or cheer. Once a year, our department will host an acrobatic outing.
This year, we will take an aerial silks class at Upside Aerial in Burlington.
The aerial studio can only accommodate 14 people per class. For the first round of sign ups, the class is restricted to Math, Stats, or Data analytics majors/minors. If there is space left in the class, we will open up the class to all Elon students. First-come first-served.
Elon Students, to sign up for the event, go to this form. To pay the $15 fee, go see MaryLee Tyndall, the Math and Stats program assistant, in Duke 209. Please bring $15 in cash. If you would prefer to pay with venmo, talk to Dr. Nancy Scherich.
What will you need for the class?
- Wear exercise clothing free from zippers or any sharp edges that could snag the fabric.
- To avoid fabric burns, I suggest wearing long pants that cover the backs of the knees and shirts that cover your armpits. It is best to wear tight fitting clothing that will stay in place when you hang upside down.
- Bring a pair socks.
If you have any questions, email Dr. Nancy Scherich.
